Diff output seals, rod-change seal, rod-change bushing. Not much else that's difficult to do with the engine in unless you're going to go a bit deeper and, for example, refresh the diff or change the timing chain as well.

Oil pump.

Ideal time to fit a new cam, if that's your poison.

Oil pump, timing chain, check crank end float and correct if necessary.
New main and big-end shells are inexpensive and worth changing, especially if the engine has done a fairly high mileage.
Re-lap the valves and fit new valve stem oil seals.

Rebuild the engine. duplex timing gear, kent 266 cam, modified cylinder head, quaife atb diff ect. Quite expensive, but it would make the car MUCH better to drive. :shades:

That would make it go very well. The only thing I would not do is to fit a limited slip diff. They can be hard work on the road and unless you expect to be doing what would be wheel-spin acceleration all the time without one they are an expensive and unnecessary item. However, a cross-pin diff is a good idea for a heavily modified car.

From another thread, the EVO001 cam might be a better option if a cam change is anticipated.

Not sure how good the emissions are with 266 or evo001 cam in an SPi for the MOT

I'm with Cooperman you don't need an LSD

When you do the clutch set the end float on the primary gear and don't forget the trust bearing

Great time to change the engine core plugs if they're showing signs of rust. Possible with everything in the car, but much easier on the bench! They're cheap and easy to do. You can check the water jacket is clear at the same time.
