Hello everyone, apologies for probably asking a very simple question but I am rubbish at wiring!!

I've brought a oil temp gauge that I'm in the process of putting in. They gave me a decent wiring diagram that makes a bit of sense.

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge at the moment and no oil pressure warning light. So i've taken the opportunity to wire a 20psi minispares one in.

I have a sender all plumbed in with T piece, a load of spare wire and a warning light.

I guess it needs wiring in series: some power to the bulb, then sender then earth.

Question is - do i need 10v from the voltage regulator or 12v from elsewhere?

It is likely to be a 12V bulb. You could run it with a 10V supply, it would just be slightly dimmer.

As standard, only gauges run at 10V. I don’t know if the regulator would be able to cope with the load from a bulb.

Good stuff thanks. The light will be right next to the tacho so will nick some power off that.
