I would have drilled the existing one if it was alloy.
but to answer your question with another what carb are you fitting?

Hi,
I'd fit it as an addition if the manifold studs are long enough otherwise as a replacement for the current one.

You may run into clearance problems with the jet being moved further back, particularly in a '72 as the crossmember depression is less pronounced, and I'm not sure what having 2 spacers would achieve. You may be able to drill and fit a suitable take off to the existing spacer?

the problem is many of these things are only thin meaning that you cant use them on their own as linkage parts of the carb can catch on some manifolds and as you say extending the spacer stack can lead to carb clearance issues. why cant they be made standard thickness.

I just used the vacuum adapter plate. It worked fine without the standard spacer

It would certainly make it a lot easier!

Hi,
Yes you could do it that way.
I can't find an adaptor, but you could drill and tap the blanking plug for a 1/8 hose barb...

This is the one for a servo vacuum pipe but too big for a gauge pipe....

Hi,
In fact if you can find what the thread is you could use the one out of that plastic spacer you bought...
Cheers
