I've cleaned small items like wheel nuts, metal brackets in a polythene bag which has a small amount of Deox Gel added. Just enough to coat the item. The gel doesn't dry out and works well.
you just put the gel on the surface, let sit for 24 hrs then remove with?
I have a few spots on the seems and was thinking temporarily using deox gel or a por alternative by taping the good stuff off, then applying
If you are wanting to use Deox Gel on the bodywork I'd apply it then cover it over with cling flim if you are planning to leave it overnight so that it doesn't dry out. There is another thing to consider with the temperature being colder. The stuff works slower at lower temperatures. If you're lucky enough to have a warm enough garage then no problem. To remove the gel agitate the gel with a wire brush or nylon pan scrubber basically anything to get into the pitted metal to lift the loosened rust. Just rinse off the now brown sludge with water. Repeat the procedure if rust not completely removed.
If cleaning small items pour a small amount of Deox gel into a polythene bag and add the item(s) that you want to clean up. Seal the bag by knotting it, then move the bag about enough to make sure the items are coated. Leave until the gel looks like it done its job.
I clean the items up by wire brushing with a small fine wire brush to dislodge any rust as per Bilt Hamber's instructions and then rinse off under a cold tap. If there's still some rust stick em back in the bag and repeat.
