It seems at the moment that every part I turn my attention to on this '93 Italian Job renovation turns up something quirky or broken. Case in point are the front indicators. I was going to refit them to the car, but needed to change the bulbs and lenses, as someone had fitted amber painted bulbs and the lenses were broken. One bulb refused to come out, so I peeled back the rubber boot to find the black wire was not connected to the earth tang in the plastic housing. Checked the second light and same situation.

Question is, as the earth tang is also connected to one of the fixing screws, is the earth wire needed or can it be coiled up inside the boot and ignored. If it is needed, how is the wire connected to the tang, as there is a loop on the end of the wire that might take an extremely small screw to connect it to the tang, but in that respect I'm just guessing
