Engine Whirling Noise

Take the fan belt off and give it a quick run, that will eliminate that end if it's still making the noise.

Just sounds like normal fan noise to me.
But the fan does look a bit too far into the cowling.

Use a long plastic screwdriver as a listening device. Place the tip onto the part Or area you want then place your ear on the other end

That should read plastic handled screwdriver and yes plastic handle to the ear

Or the fan is touching .. when you spin it by hand (no belt) any noises?

Check all the mounts for the alternator, had a strange noise a few years ago, turned out the bolt holding the adjuster bracket to the engine had broken and the bracket was moving around!

One thing to check is the lug on the engine front plate where the alternator bolts on. It has been known for that lug to fracture and cause a strange noise (had that). It can take a while to diagnose as it is not immediately obvious.

Sometimes a new fan belt or new-ish one that's been refitted on a different pulley or in the reverse direction to how it previously ran can make a sound like that. This usually settles down after about 100 miles.
