I'd have a look down the back of the engine block and see if there's a cam sensor

No, there is no cam sensor in my car because Spi doesnt need it I think. But my car uses coil , so no distributor gear either, that's why I wonder which camshaft is in my car.

Well, id see if I can get a finger in the cam sensor hole (I assume it's just blamed off) and see if you can feel a round lobe or one with a lump for the mpi sensor.

The mpi one should be easy to feel as it has a grooved lobe.

The only way you will know ultimately is the remove the cam and measure it, measuring can be done in car, but not as accurately

As you are running minus dizzy and cam sensor it could be anything...

Including a NA cam with a dizzy drive and no sensor lobes

Has the engine been rebuilt at some time?

Anyway, it seems the spi and mpi are the same profile anyway from this,

How about I ask for advice this way, could an A+ non-mpi camshaft be installed in my engine with my engine layout?

It could be, but I think it's unlikely that the factory would have had any.

I want to do some upgrade on my engine and as I can see many aftermarket upgraded camshafts are specified not for mpi engine, I just want to make sure what to use because of my mpi block.

Ah!

There are 2 reasons they would not be suited,1) the camshaft sensor lobe, which if your not using, it won't matter, and 2) the emissions they will give due to the profile, but that really depends on where you are and what emissions the car will be tested to.
