So it looks like my Karcher 520M pressure washer has squirted its last, Not sure exactly what the issue is with it , motor running constantly, not shutting off and no pressure from the lance. Tried removing and cleaning the spill valve to no avail, possibly needs seals replacing somewhere but Ive had it for 10+ years so maybe not worth the fixing.

What do you recommend as a replacement, another Karcher? something different?

I've just bought a Karcher K4 to replace my old faithful of 8 years. It's a great bit of kit!

Nilfisk also good, I like their feature of a metal pump instead of plastic.

i had a k4 that did that and i think it was the seals in the piston pump.

K4 is cheep, good, but watch the plastic fittings for the in and mainly the outlet, they snap so easily.

I have my K4 now in the garage fixed to a shelf above the door, 10 meter hose on it, which also is attached to the  shelf, so it cant be broken.

I dont think a k4 will last like your old one...

My one is a Argos own brand one it’s actually pretty good. Was half the price of a the equivalent karcher and it’s actually manufactured by karcher too.

The k4 Karcher has bearing in a plastic race which disintegrate .change them for the steel race type , you can get them off eBay for about £2 . Not hard to do but be carefull that the oil don't pour out.

The 520M had a metal pump which explains why it lasted so long maybe.

I think Ive decided on a Nilfisk C135, planning to order one come payday.

So I bought the Nilfisk C135 i, assembled and used it for the first time today.

Seems a good bit of kit, the rotating jet lance is very effective on cleaning concrete. My patio is filthy after the winter and I think this will be just as effective, (and as quick) as my rotary patio cleaner.

Thanks for the recommendations!
