engine

Best Answer Spider , 22 December 2018 - 06:28 PM

The 1989 Rover Factory Manual says 0.001 to 0.005" for a 998.

I would suggest 0.004" to 0.005".

Hi all,

I'm rebuilding a 998 A+, out of a 1988 Mayfair, keeping it quite standard, so what is correct crankshaft enfload?
The Haynes book for Mini 1969-1982 says 0.002 to 0.003in, but a newer edition says 0.003 to 0.005in ???  Which one is right??

Standard engine 0.004 inch is ideal

I always work on 0.002" to 0.004" for new bearings.

Thanks to Rorf, Cooperman, and Moke Spider.  I'll go for 0.004"
