Fuel Filter Replacement

So I removed the new outlet pipe/hose to compare to the original. As you can see in the attached picture they are pretty much identical in length.

 

I removed the pipe from the filter and tried moving it around to see if I could remove the kink in the hose. Due to the way it bends back on itself though no matter where I put it there was still some degree of a kink in the hose.

 

I did notice that the replacement part hose seems to be thinner then the original, which might explain why it kinks easier.

 

Anyway I'm going to tighten everything up and try running the car.

How did you get on with this? thinking mines welded on and have to do the same to my SPI

Useful post. Can I ask if there is consensus around a preferred fuel filter? I see a few options out there. . .

 

If so, a link would be appreciated as I intend to change mine in the Spring.

As an FYI, I bought one of the mini spares pipe as featured in this thread and moved my filter forward... No kink.
