Happy New Year everyone.

As above, does anybody know if 7x13 wheels will foul the standard front wing mounted aerial when steering? I'd fit an MPI roof aerial but don't want to damage my headliner, which is in good condition.

I'm sick of not having radio and the windscreen mounted one I have at present is simply rubbish.

Or has anyone got a better idea?

Chris.

I don’t see how they could, unless the aerial protruded into the wheel well itself.

And you shouldn’t damage your headlining fitting a roof aerial, but you would need to remove the windscreen.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, getting that windscreen in was a nightmare, the original toughened one popped in really easy but the replacement with shade band I bought was a nightmare to fit, don't know if it was slightly bigger but it wasn't easy, so I'd rather not have to remove it unless really necessary. The only reason I asked about the wing mount was I seem to remember hearing it was moved from the front wing on the MPI to allow for the bigger wheels to be fitted, may have just dreamt  it though!

Can't you fit an internal aerial?
My brother had one for years, still has it actually, worked fine until they changed to Dab+ but that just means a new radio and antenna... ?

I can't remember the specific brand but I believe I paid £10 each, I have one on each mini and never have an issue

I had a rubber aerial similar to this twenty five years ago on a Mini:

It fits to the wing but as it doesn't retract it hardly protrudes into the wheel well.  It worked very well on FM but I don't think it was so good for AM.
