I have a 1990 Mini City which I have been restoring for the last couple of years. She runs beautifully but a few days ago I found that the clutch pedal would not depress.  Even with the engine running I could shift into any gear as if the clutch was disengaged permanently.  I fitted a new slave cylinder thinking that it was seized but to no avail.  The pedal is still solid and the car is going nowhere.  Any advice would be welcome please.

If it's a verto clutch then try Adjusting the two nuts on the plunger (throw out nuts)

The two big nuts on the end of the clutch cover. The gap between the inner flange nut and casing needs to be 6.5mm.

If the pedal is still solid I'd now get the car to an area with a lot of room around it,

You want to start the car in gear with the clutch up so that the engine rotation can free the clutch up.

I've had this happen on engines which have been sitting a few years

Sounds more like the operating arm and plunger are seized up in the 'wok'. Get some penetrating oil in the mechanism.
Presumably the pedal and master were moving ok when you bled out the new slave cylinder?

I'd guess that Boycie is right here. I've seen the plunger seize in the bell housing.

There is a clutch plate in there isnt there?

I'm new to all this but mine seized up because it had been stood for years and I was surprised how much heat and force were needed to get it moving again.
