Hello, I have a question about heated seats iv been looking at buying seats from another car that has heated seats build in and then get an auto electrician to sort the electronic and then finding a way to secure it and wondering if anyone has experience with this putting seats from another car inside the mini. I know I could just go buy a seat cover that has heating from eBay but I don't trust that Chinese crap so it's either something like this or just forget it. reason being for this decision is both my parents have back problems and both say when driving in their car heated seats helps with pain so I just thought it would be a nice gesture to them if I got heated seats installed. if someone has experience that would be awesome. all feedback is welcome

I had some Mk1 MX5 seats fitted for a while- I welded nuts to the crossmember, then bolted the lower seat runners on the seats directly to the crossmember/floor. Nice driving position, tricky to get in and out of though- they sit rather low so may not be ideal for someone with back problems even if they are heated.

John from JCS custom trim (does excellent seats) has a pair of MX5 seats in his mini. And alfa GTV seats in the back. If you can get on Instagram you'll see some pictures (JCScustomtrim).

I've been badgering him for info for a while and still haven't decided whether to get my seats re-trimmed or go for a good set of MX5 seats or similar. Other stuff I considered were Mitsubish CZC seats in leather, Fiat 500 and Smart roadster seats. All are narrow enough, and just need a frame fabricating.

I also had Alfa 156 seats at one stage- they were comfy! Also electrically adjustable.
