I am doing a restoration on my 92 British Open Classic.

The vacuum pipes where not attached and just sitting loose in the engine bay.  I am not sure if it's two vacuum pipes or one broken in half.

Could someone confirm where they are attached to and from please.  I have established that one end is attached to the distributor, but where does the other end go?

Haynes manual is not much help with this.

Thanks for any assistance.

Adrian

There should be two small take off stubs under the thermostat housing(on the front of the sandwich plate)

One side comes from the inlet manifold, the other should have a 3 way connector that goes to the dizzy vacuum can and charcoal canister

A bit more help required on this frustrating matter, please guys. From the photo below, these are the three large diameter pipes coming from the charcoal canister on my IJ. I've got one connected to the engine breather circuit, one connected to the fuel tank breather and then there is the third one that currently ends right on the inner wing grommet. It looks like there is/was a smaller diameter pipe in the end. If there was I can't remove it. I know this pipe needs connecting to the breather on the side of the carb, but should it be the same diameter pipe as the other two, or can a reduced diameter one connect it up?

A final update to my post above. After sourcing some 5mm bore silicone vacuum hose I have now got everything piped up to the charcoal canister as it should be. Thanks for all the help along the way - even if the suggestion was to get rid of it! Pic below shows how the engine bay looks now.Attached File  20190209_1445391.jpg   94.42K   3 downloads
