thats what I seem to be getting from my 998cc mini city at the moment. I filled her up on dec 1st- made a note of the odometer, and today filled her up again with 26.72 litres  ( 5.87 gallon) and covered around 93 miles.

The engine is 998cc with stage 1 kit. I thought it may be running a bit rich as it starts getting hot in stationary traffic, even in winter ! Could this rich running be responsible for this lousy fuel consumption or could there be other reasons ?  Could you lose significant fuel through  an ill fitting fuel cap ?

Had the car since sept  and it was last mot'd in june and didn't seem to have any emissions problems then.

Any thoughts welcome !

Could be anything but I would start by making sure there are no fuel leaks when the engine is running from the fuel pump and float bowl.

Modern fuel eats through old petrol hoses so check under the tank as well.

Are the plugs black, if it was very rich it would have a misfire at hot idle.

Has it been serviced, has it been set up on a rolling road for the stage one kit. Lots of variables but the rolling road will be the best bet.

Did you fill up at the same pump, because it you used a different petrol station the ground might be slightly off meaning you full rank isn't as accurate

Is someone stealing fuel from your tank?

time to invest in spark plug spanner ! It did smell quite petrolly when the weather was warmer, which I put down to too much choke but could be a leak- will try and investigate next weekend

If you are doing short journeys on Choke with the engine not getting fully warmed with lights, fan, etc on you will get low MPG, but 15MPG points to a fuel leak.

One of mini used to lose fuel out of the cap during enthusiastic cornering. Didn't know until a friend was following me

Google map your route and check, wouldnt take the odometer as gospel.

Could be a dodgy odometer unless you know the distance covered for sure. Follow a set journey on a sat nav and check your odometer is working correctly. Or follow a mate in a modern car and get them to measure the journey.

sure the milage is pretty accurate as i've only been pottering around the confines of bath at weekends throughout december- no big journeys- Though I will do the google map thing again, as I've not done it since I changed the speedo a few months ago !

did a small journey today- only about 9 miles but the odometre was pretty much spot on- so can rule that out. I reckon it would have to be under reading by 75-100 % to get the fuel economy reading I worked out
