I agree. And it looks like it's only the wheels that have been changed?
Should it have a roof aerial like other MPI's?

What wheels should it have?

12inch rims with 165/60/12 rubber as original equipment

I'll maybe buy a set put tyres on and keep them just to make it original.
But
I actually like the 12" Cosmics .... They are originals and I haven't been able to find a car with same wheels on any of the forums.

Apologies, I didn't clock that it was a Jap/SPI car - I thought it was an MPI.

Injection tuning...… lots of topics on here if you do a search. After a bit of research/advice from forum members I went for a Swiftune Cam and Duplex timing kit. A mildly tuned cyclinder head, MED ST1 Alloy/Steel lightened flywheel. X Pin Diff, Maniflow system/manifold.

It's not in the car yet. The aim was increased Torque/driveability (rather than chasing BHP figures) while maintaining reliability and not needing rebuilding every 5 minutes. Jury is out on whether I change the final drive.

P.S. I was told that the 'bolt-on' kits (John cooper and similar) rarely achieve the quoted figures and use hi-lift rockers as a substitute for changing the cam. And that if you're having the engine apart, you are best investing in a suitable cam for how you want the car to drive. I'm no expert on any of this, just passing along the advice I received.

Keep it. My JDM Cooper has it and it's brilliant, the a/c fan is much better than the basic Mini heater fan so is a big improvement even if only being used for ventilation without the chiller side functioning.

Aircon I would keep, I’ve got its “twin” 35th Anniversary Model which the previous owner had before this one.
Just drive it!

Definitely the nicest Model Rover ever made, imo. Didn't really want to part with this one, but David was bloody persistent. Nice to see them all at Shows looking great. Including yours FS. Jim

Definitely stay! Such a great option for the JDM models.

Jim has been subtly working on me to keep the wee car original.
I pretty much agree with that and may have to buy yet another car...... lol

I did just that and bought another JDM to play with but not as unique as the Anniversary so not stressed about modifying.

FS...I know you bought the '97 Surf Blue with the 1380 from me recently....but....have you been splashing out again? Does that mean one of your Pickups is having to be sold?

ps....Cutting back on my cars now...so the Cabrioni is probably the next one to head down the road. Might take it to IMM as it should appeal to the Dutch and Belgian Mini people....as it's a LHD. Jim

Pickups are safe first one is still on the jig. It’s the Surf blue I mean for modding as I can keep Anniversary as is.
