Very reluctant sale due to lack of use I only covered 900miles last year and it’s going to be even less this year due to the fact I now cycle to work so now is the time for someone else to benefit from this classic but total useable daily drive.
First registered April 1989
5 doors with central locking as standard
Only covered 30,700 miles
Mot till October 2019
Mg metro 1275 leaded engine
Vented front disc brakes as standard
New valve seals fitted
All suspension fluid replaced and pumped up to correct ride height
Original Austin 12” alloy pepper pot wheels with 5 new tyres
Reg etched windows
Roof level clock
Standard sunroof
Blue metallic paint
Never been welded
Agreed insurance value £3500
New clutch plus gearbox was overhauled by guess-works
I have owned this car for nearly 6 years when I purchased the car it’s engine had been removed to be transplanted into a classic mini . I had a mg metro engine sat in my garage that went straight in this came from a mg metro that had only done 15k from new .I replaced the clutch and had guess-works overhaul the gearbox whilst the engine was out the only thing that they replaced was the syncro on second gear that had some slight wear it starts first time in any weather and has never let me down and never failed a mot in fact every time I’ve taken it in the examiner comments on how good it is and how well it runs.
The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears and has never been smoked in .
The body work is rust free and amazingly has never been welded although it has a couple of scratches and small car park dings and one small dent to the top of one wing but had saying that it’s all original and for a 30 year old car it’s very impressive.

Asking £2,200 ovno you will be pushed to find better for such a usable classic.
Collection only from Peterborough

Happy to answer any questions and forward anymore photos

Hi mate, lovely looking metro! I believe you're the guy who I bought all the mg metro parts off of last year? If so, to anyone interested in buying this metro, I can vouch for how unbelievably clean it is! It really is a time warp car, you won't find better! When I saw it last year, I was amazed as to how good it is! Good luck with the sale mate!

Hi thanks for your kind words yes I am indeed that guy
I hope you found room for the van load of stuff you took ( have you stopped buying yet ) ;)
We finally cleared the bungalow and workshop what a job that turned out to be after 20years plus of being there it took months/nearly a year to clear.
Since you saw the car it went straight through it’s mot again with no advisories it’s just a shame now I don’t use it, the 900 miles it covered last year was going to and fro to the bungalow .
I would love to see someone buy it and use / enjoy it as much as I have over the past few years .
Thanks again for taking the time to add to my post .

No problem, and no still not stopped buying! Now have a 1969/70 clubman estate. I've managed to put most of the bits into storage that i had off you, bonnet, grille and interior are on the metro. She looks much better :)
