I went to my first wedding in 1965 in a full-on rally Ford Anglia 1500GT, then off on honeymoon in my new 998 Cooper. Does that count?

They are Weller wheels, not many sets of them around. I've only ever seen one other mini with them on! Always get people wanting to buy them, got the chrome centre caps to put in which is one of my jobs this year :)

One memorable summer's afternoon, I took a happy couple from the church to their reception, sat in two specially narrowed down deckchairs, in the back of my Mini pick-up.
I hasten to add that this was before the "clunt lick, every trip" seat belt days.

I was going to, as both our first cars were minis, However, the work need in the 6 week from when I bought it to the date of the wedding, last October, just didn't make it viable mores the pity.

Although I did not arrive at my wedding in a mini, we did leave the reception in it. It was a mini traveler that I had bought a few months previously for £35. Complete with rusty subframe, no brakes and a fibreglass outer sill!
The paint scheme was a wavy combination of maroon and black, with rust.
I repaired and finally MOT'd it a few days before the event, but it was not what my future wife would have wanted to see at the church. As it was our only transport it had to be at the reception.

I like the pic.
I didn't realise that Orkney was that close to Scotland, or that the sea was so shallow.
