Defo do the door steps first, something else to add a bit of rigidity to the frame even if you are bracing the car.

what's wrong with doing the floor first and then the door steps, so long as the door steps are only cut out after the floor is back in?

He said that rear quarters are going to be replaced, there would be nothing to fix the floor to

Personally thats where i would start first. Its an original starting point so that dimension should be spot on from the beginning. 

 

Is it the right way?? well for me i would be happier doing that. Remember what you are putting in place is not original material. The presses have seen better days so a small error could only compound things further along.

Hi chaps thank you really appreciate the help, I think I’ll pop the door steps in first like you say it’ll give the floor something to weld to, the only issue is the rear quarter are being replaced shall I cut a small section out low down for the door step to go in, does the door step go under the rear quarter, any pictures appreciated

Do I need to take the rear bins out ?
Does the door step go under the rear quarter ?

Yes, inner sill runs behind it. Makes access to the other bits in the rear corners.
