I was wondering why air wasn't coming out my screen de-mister vents. After checking everything, ive discovered the plastic vents in my top vinyl dash rail are covering the inner vents, looks like it needs to be pushed forwards a bit.
I've completely taken out my top vinyl rail, no matter how I position it the plastic bits are still covering the vents. It looks like I need to bend the metal flaps back.
Does this sound right? Has anyone else come across this?
Cheers for any help.

I'm going have to do the same with mine

my one de-mists like it's being blown by an asthmatic hamster

the pad is back a bit , blocking flow

also the vent pipes can sometimes drop off behind the trim

best of luck

Cheers sledgehammer, my pipes are fine. The only solution I can see is bending the metal flaps back. Surely it hasn't always been like this?

I hate to say this, but the easiest way to get the top rail into the correct position is to take the screen out. I had to do this (twice) when starting the rebuild of my IJ. You cant get the correct angle for the centre stud to go through the old ashtray hole and clear the bottom of the screen rubber with it all in situ. Bit of a b*gger I know, but its worth it, and not having to bend any metal flaps because its not really these giving the problem.

The metal flaps may at some point been bent to far, bending them back is something I’ve done in the past.
