I've been stripping down some seats with grotty covers so that I can use the foam in my Sidewalk seats. I've stripped them down so that the frame is bare, but I'm struggling with getting the cover of the seat base foam.  I can see two metal rods going front to back, and one going across. The front to back seem to pull out forwards allowing the little loops on the cover to free, but I'm struggling with the one that runs across. It appears that I need to flex it to get it out of the foam at one end then slide it across/out. The only problem with this is everytime I do it I seem to rip the seat cover fixing material that the rod is through.

Anyone got a how to? Or anyone able to advise if I am doing correctly?  I don't mind these covers getting wrecked as they're knackered already, but I can't damage my Sidewalk Tartan as I need to re-use it.  Safe to say anything plastic/fabric on these Sprite seats has been beyond brittle.

Thanks
