I am going to need some new ball joints shortly.

A search on here suggests that the ones to go for would either be the 'Genuine Mini Spares Part' GSJ166MS or the Delphi ones.

Any preference between the two?

In the case of Delphi can anyone recommend a good online source?

Many thanks

I buy Delphi and I also buy locally, they aren't much more expensive than Minispares, if I have any issues they are usually resolved same day, instead of a week wasted waiting on parts

Is that the same as the GSJ166MS on the Mini Spares website?

The original Unipart ones, as fitted OEM finished in 2012. They are NLA.

There are still Unipart ones available, but these are nothing like the OEM ones.

Unipart was doing spares for a while up until perhaps a year ago and I was getting lots of spares from them but all of a sudden they stopped stocking, I have sourced really nice equivalent sets of ball joints by a brand called star line £20 per side, I stock their track rod ends and the quality is excellent £10 per side

What is the finish on the contact surfaces like?

The finish is very nice, they are in branded sealed bags so pics will be difficult to show

Think they were going bust so got rid of the spares business .. the website looks like a poor-mans Halfords now ..

Agreed gazza, they did seem to have a good range of stock, they had a small selection of mini spares, some of which I still have ( air filters and rear shoes these are particularly nice quality ) but they seem to have completely stopped that end of the business

A few years ago, I pasted a Unipart Centre in one of our Industrial areas. They vanished from here back at the end of the 70's, so it was a big curiosity to me. I couldn't spare the time to go in, so I looked them up. Seems they have gotten out of the Auto Industry and are now a Logistics company.
