thanks buddy not everyones cup of tea i know but seems a simple strong and proven way to go wheel centre to wheel centre its 300mm to long but as you can see by the pics its very easy to shorten plenty of straight tube with nothing else attached

that engine is an escort  but its going to be  either the redtop vauxhall or an mx5  i actually bought a 1.8 tuned [dot know whats been done tho] mx5 engine and gearbox for 75 quid complete including sports manifold  ect

so the  strut top towers outside to outside are 25 and 1/2 inches

the outriggers  outside to outside edge is 35 and 1/2 inches the space i have to play with inside my box section sills is 1230mm  so width wise it will fly in and i just have to make some wider outriggers by  4 inches a side  couldnt be much easier i will take the chassis and the box section to my mates unit and lay it on his  huge welding table toget it perfect and level stright ect its difficuilt in mu shed due to the flooring thats in there  i will then ratchet the shell and roll th chassis underneath and slowly drop it down  result

There is a lot of work going into this. Keep going at it.   I'm down the road in Porthcawl if you get desperate and need a hand.

so  maybe a slight change of plan ime now using a saab turbo engine with omega box as i think 250 bhp front wheel drive would be awful torque steer wise   and these can be made to give upto 500bhp so i think its the way to go

not much to report due to work. but did find these on my phone

its progressed a little since these were taken

so we have the scalloped box section  to allow the  door step panel to sit flat   the step panel it has those  two indentations wich would stop it  otherwise and obviously  we have the 40mm holes along the full length of the box

A,to lighten it and B  it looks cool

everything i do will be tied into these new  pieces  the box section across the front will be going it was just to keep it all square the one at the back is staying as this forms the top of the rear frame for the prop and exhaust tunnel

havent done to much as i need to collect parts and with the lockdown atm i cant so decided to get the windscreen surround in place using the bulkhead and inner wings to help line everything up ime not sure if the bulkhead will be staying in place yet  as i think ime going to have to cut large chunks out of it and being a brand new panel i dont much fancy that better to use it to align everything then once tacked up remove it and make one to suit

Hi, does that windscreen surround panel come with the inner windscreen boxing plates attached? Specifically, these bits:

How was it to fit?

Looking good!

Cheers
