Managed to get my shed/workshop doors fitted and a bit of primer on the cleaned up clubman front end also got rid of the majority of grot from the bulkhead x member end and cut my box section to length ready for bracing little steps

Its very good tbf i think its had new wings on it at some point in the past the guy i got it off cut it of his car as he was doing a z car conversion it was sat laying around for 15years and theres not a dink on it surface rust is cleaning up well back to bright metal i will be cutting away the remains of inner wing ect from them

So raided my mates scrap bin for box and angle to make a rollover spit ive got what i need but it has a load of surface rusy not worried about that as i will cupbrush and paint when built pics tmz

So this morning went to the local steel stockist and got some 30×30 box section some 50×50 box and some 35 mm tube got home and cut it to size when i make the spit i want to be able to use it for other cars so there will have to be a removeable frame ime thnking of mounting to the bulkhead via the tubes through the tower bolt mounting holes with washers and captive nuts welded top and bottom for threaded bar to pass through all will be revealed

Started making a mini specific attachment first time welding in a number of years got to late to use the grinder so will be linishing the welds tomorrow

Had a bit of trouble with the mig first of all the wire feed then the gas line popped out (i have a disposable to medium gasline conversion ) and thjt meant taking the mig apart to sort resulted in a few pipeon **** welds once sorted we were back in the game

I hope the shell work goes a bit more str8 for ard than the welder drama ime having the last two days

First the gas ran out ok rang around a few places trying to get a cot pub gas bottle refilled no luck thdo went and paid £65 for a bottle deposit and £15 for an argon mix 10ltr the rugulator i had wouldnt fit the bottle so add another £27 for a new argon reg but managed to finish the front spit subframe apart fro a bracket will get the rear done tomorrow and start the floor pan fabrication wednesday

95% Finished the rear spit mount two brackets tomorrow and its done

I know the pics are not of a mini but preparation and sorting the work area is where ime at the moment by friday i shold have at least 1 floor made

Bonus is making this is great welding practice the last time i welded anything was around 9 years ago
