Hi chaps

So I need to alter my fuelling for my 7 port,

Currently standard carb tank, with a facet fuel pump and king filter. Which 'was' running my 1380 year or so ago. I have been told that using a spi tank and being modded to take a mpi fuel pump,

Is that somewhat correct?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking ? But I'm presuming you're going to fuel injection ? If so, you could keep your existing tank and simply use a high pressure injection type pump externally.

Phil.

Only reason to go for an SPI/MPI tank is because they have a fuel return inlet. Otherwise they are the same size as any other 7.5 gallon tank.

It is possible to covert to EFI without a fuel return line. This is called a dead head system but you need a fuel pressure regulator designed for a dead head system, Most EFI conversion (and fuel regulators) use a return line. In which case yes you can fit an MPI pump to an SPI tank.
