I'm currently rebuilding my engine. When I eventually put it back I don't want to put back my cruddy old looking manifold with freshly painted engine.
So I'm looking to get a new one, I think I currently have the 12G3279 although it's hard to see through the crust.
I don't want to go through getting separate inlet manifold ie stage 1 kit as I'm happy with most things standard and don't want the added expense right now.
I've found this on eBay
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173745792952

It's a 12G787 though, i asked the seller if it will fit mine and he said yes. I just want to be sure though?
I have a 1992 with HS4 waxstat and I'll need the take off for the brake servo.
Thanks in advance.

yes it will fit but you need to confirm with the seller that it has the required drillings as some were drilled and some were not.

Thanks for the reply nicklouse. Not to be naive, but what are the drillings for, the only thing extra I know about is for my servo pipe.

Just clean up your existing manifold.

Wire brush attachment on an electric drill and a tin of heat resistant paint if you wanted and save yourself £40

That's all that manifold is  - it's used and painted

Bbq spray paint does a good job not even sure I gave it much wirebrushing just removed the loose stuff.

If you want something unique to compliment your engine paint job, with a really good finish that would cut down on radiated heat and would never tarnish, how about getting it sanded smooth and gold-plated?

Thanks for the reply nicklouse. Not to be naive, but what are the drillings for, the only thing extra I know about is for my servo pipe.

not all had servos.

some had drillings in different locations for the servo. the manifold was not just for the Mini but was used on all A series powered cars. transverse and inline.

as above just clean yours up then you know it is right and ill be more cost effective. you could even find someone to media blast it if you dont want to wire brush it.
