Hello again legends!
I need to pick your brains again. My twin hs2s keep getting stuck so the throttle is accelerating on its own. I need to give the pedal a little “blip” to sort it out pretty often.

I think it’s down to having the wrong throttle/accelerator retaining bracket (the one the bolts to the inlet manifold,I have this part on order) but also I think the linkages are incorrect also.

I have searched the forum and most parts suppliers including moss Europe with their amazing schematics but cannot seem to find the correct part/where mine is wrong.

I’ll attach some pictures of the current set up and would love your advice.

Hopefully this clarifies a little.

The carbs work well as does the accelerator (apart from the throttle sticking sometimes)

I'm not sure why or even if it's not correct, but the throttle configuration, with the additional "rods" don't look the same as any other twin carb set up I've seen on a mini. So I am assuming this has something to do with my throttle problem?

Any light you can shed and a f there's a solution it would be appreciated.

Can't really see from the images but disconnect the return springs and linkage and make sure the connecting bar is completely free running when it opens and closes both butterflies there should be no resistance anywhere. Check that there is oil in the dash pots, and the pistons move up freely and return fully on their own. If all that passes muster connect the cable and springs back up and check movement when somebody operates the pedal

looks way more complex than most setups I have seen. just trying to work out what is actually going one.

the cold start shaft looks like it is the wrong way round as the nuts are facing down not up.

 

the linkage that operates the throttle o would say has been taken of a different car as it is not needed  I would remove it and make up a new cable stop and move the cable connection directly to the spindle.

Nicklouse I suspected this was from a different car entirely as I can’t seem to find anything similar at all.

As I said there are additional “rods” and brackets on the throttle shaft. From your reaction these are unneeded and making it more complicated than needs be.

Is it safe to assume the only fix would be remove the carbs take them apart and fit the correct bracket/arm.

Is this complicated or just a bit fiddly? The “arm” appears to “slide” on the the shaft and not bolt around it so as I said I suspect it’s carbs off and spanners out?

Any links or pictures of the correct parts needed?
