It's good to see more options for electric conversion showing up and this looks like a neat conversion. Not much information about the motor and battery type or capacity, other than the fact it's a brushless motor providing regenerative braking. The battery voltage is low compared to most DIY conversions, and much lower than OEM plug-ins, but that's obviously been done for safety reasons. I wouldn't be too happy about having the battery pack in the boot, as even a low-speed shunt could damage it, but the only easy alternative is to put it in the rear seat space. That might not be an option for approval reasons in other EU countries, where the regulations governing conversions are much stricter than in the UK and US.

 

The price is reasonable considering the current cost of new parts and the work that must have gone into designing a kit so that it can be easily integrated. It looks positively cheap compared to the Swindon electric mini.

no mention of a heater that I can see

slight rear end bump , will take days to put out - assuming normal lithium-ion batterys (hammonds accident took 5 days to fully extinguish) 

 

 

10 years from now it will be a practical solution with better , safer battery's & cheaper

 

but not at the moment IMHO

 

wonder if anyone does a universal kit ?

 

would like a conversion with the motors in the wheels - no diff / gearbox etc

or motors inboard with a CV joint - for less un-sprung weight - must be possible
 

battery's against the bulkhead / in rear floor - bit safer than almost against the boot opening

 

pity the mini isn't light enough for a bike kit ;o)

Does look neat, but at £20,592 incVAT I can't see there will be many takers

Definitely possible, but not cheap. You would need two motors and two controllers, and ideally a torque vectoring system. A couple of these motors would make a fun conversion: https://emrax.com/products/emrax-208/

That looks nice. A couple of years ago this would have been an option for me.

I think the price is reasonable considering that they claim 200km range (battery capacity should be at least 20kWh to reach this). I hope to see many of them on the road.
