My KAD short shift sits like this. Black spacer is the additional KAD one with the ball seat and locating bolt. Silver spacer is the original with the spring and split nylon stepped washer inside.

Chris, the words and the picture are confusing. going by the words the incorrect image seems to be right can you shed light to what should it be aligned.

or is it just saying it need aligning one spline off giving 10 degrees?

Thanks guys the info is really appreciated. I’ll take a closer look and grab some pictures when I can delegate some time to going in the garage.

for the Mini you should have 23 or 12 sitting on the ball of the lever red line then the spring on that which is compressed by 27 with spacer 25 between.

Cheers, as far as I know this is how I assembled it on two occasions to still find it very tight unless the retaining bolts were backed off slightly. The only part I am not so sure about is whether the gear lever seat is actually located in the knuckle as it’s covered in grease, so Ill double check that and also the knuckle adjustment. But as far I can remember the gear lever and relevant components are all mini rather than ADO16 but I shall confirm this with some pictures.

Is the plastic bush that fits into joint 12 different with the KAD shifter.
I have used both over the years the standard ado16 long gear shift is the best shift I have found
