Hi,
I've just fitted a pancake filter to my HS4 carb. I've noticed an extra hole in the face of it, what is this for? Shouldn't it be a sealed unit apart from sucking through the filter part or am I missing something?

There is a dashpot breather drilling in the carb I believe

I’m not sure which extra hole you are talking about, but this type has one that connects to the engine breather system via the black elbow

A lot of air filters have a hole for a crankcase breather.

Yes Timmy850 that's the one but mine didn't come with a that black elbow to fit in the hole like the one from minisport. I got mine from mini spares;

The only breather pipe I have have is from the tappet chest cover to the carb.
So I'm at loss as what to do, i can't leave it with that hole open or filter won't work properly and I don't have that black elbow nor nothing to connect it to.
Any idea's?
Cheers guys

I’d get a rubber grommet to blank the hole. Any decent parts shop should have them

Thank you, after sending that last message I thought about blanking it off using a nut,bolt & washer. But a grommet sounds neater.
