Location Crookham North Northumberland

Major restoration completed.  Brilliant finish quality respray much new metal work..

engine last ran 4 years ago, no work required so left as is.

tried starting but no joy.  Fuel pump working and juice getting through the pipes.  Immobiliser works ok srs light goes out all electrics fine,

Think I may not be getting a spark but given the long time since firing up does the ECU lose its mojo.

Too much time and £ to have a no goer

Check the injectors are firing, also check for a spark, if you have fuel to the motor and a spark it could be old petrol, so try some Tesco 99 octane fuel

Easiest way to find out of if its getting a spark is literally taking one of the spark plugs out and leaving it somewhere in contact with the engine. You might need a second person to help you either crank the car or look for a spark. Depending on if it is sparking or not you can eliminate potential problems with for example the distributor.

See if the plugs are wet after turning her over.

I managed to unclog mine. I'll tell you how I did it if needs be. Or you can get them cleaned.

Ok. Remove the injectors. You'll want to release the orange and green flexible fuel hoses to depressurise the system. You may need something ready to block the fuel dribbling out of the incoming pipe.

A couple of bolts loosens the fuel rail, and a metal clip holds each injector in. They'll be tight so will need a good wiggle and tug to get them out. It's pretty easy really.

Get a small syringe. I used a 12ml. (helps if a family member works for the NHS).
Get a piece of mains flex.
Get a car battery.

You may need 2 pairs of hands.

Fill the syringe with petrol and jam it in the input port of the injector. Squeeze down the plunger quite hard. Then get the flex hooked up to the car battery and hold one of the wires on one injector terminal. Then momentarily touch the second wire on the 2nd terminal, whilst still squeezing that plunger.

Repeat until they start squirting.

Obviously be careful with sparks and petrol.
