Howdy!

I just picked up my 1994 Rover Mini yesterday. I'm not a stranger to cars, I've been modding them for over 20 years, mostly VWs, BUT Miles (my Mini) is my FIRST Mini. I'm American but have been working/living in Japan for 6 months now. I'm looking forward to learning a ton from y'all and doing a lot of work on Miles.

But first... Is it normal to have three different keys? I have one for the ignition, one for doors & boot, and one for the gas cap. Just wondering!

Thanks in advance for your patience and help as I navigate the world of Classic Minis!

P.S. attached photo is of Hans and Miles meeting for the first time! ?

It was normal for all cars before the 1990s.  In the 80s most cars had a common ignition and door key but still a separate fuel cap key and before that the door and ignitions keys were different too.

Konnichiwah, y'all !

[ I think that's stereotypical enough  ;-) ]

Three keys? Pah! I had to buy a set of lock barrels to get to three keys. When I acquired my Mini, it came with with a bunch of five!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Interesting about the multiple keys but good to know.

Where's the best place to order parts online that deliver to Japan or an American P.O. Box? I'm looking forward to attending some swap meets here in Japan, eventually, but wouldn't mind getting some parts started in the meantime.
