Well then, long time no update on TMF...
Instagram aplenty, but I have neglected this thread so time to put that right!
Lots has happened so i'll let the pictures do most of the talking but just to list a few key thing that have happened over the last 18 months:
- 7.5" front discs, HiLos and shocks all installed
- Engine (almost) finished and installed
- Remote gear change installed
- Granny-style crochet blanket installed - a present from my wife to hide the tatty rear seats and parcel shelf
The main reason this has all taken soooooo long is that the mini had to go on hold so we could have an extension build, which meant the mini had to leave home while we ripped the roof off the garage and put another bedroom on top. Pics included for those interested.
Anyway without further ado here are the pics:
Fun times ahead - want to get it finished and running before the summer!

BIG DAY!
Got the engine started today and I'm so excited/happy/glad it actually runs!
Need to recheck the valve clearances/find the tapping noise and then get it tuned up.
Hopefully these videos work:

Got the exhaust and drive shafts sorted last weekend too. Maniflow were excellent and happy to deliver my request for a straight cut tip rather than a rolled tip.

So having got it started I asked AC Dodd to come over and help me get it sorted for running in properly.
I'd bought a BDL needle (thanks Alex for the advice) and everything else was ready.
AC came over yesterday and couldn't have been more helpful and was very approachable - answered all of my questions as we worked on it yesterday and doled out some good advice too. A fascinating process and great to see a master at work!
Anyway pictures below and hopefully the link to the video works for you - you can hear the sound of the engine more than the exhaust but it is there providing the bass notes!

Also put the dash cards and carpet back in and had to give the car a wash before taking it for a decent test drive - thanks to my uncle for the action shot!

Nice work mate! Ac Dodd certainly knows his stuff, worth every penny when he's tuned mine. I bet it goes a little better than the 850 Nice little sleeper! I'd recommend getting a oil pressure gauge even if you have a 20 psi switch for peace of mind, my switch failed the other day so the light was coming on but still had 50 psi on the gauge .

Been getting out and about in the mini so thought I'd upload some more pics. Wired up the MGB Smiths tacho too and it's brilliant!
Happy days

New wheels, no arches
Pleased with the little bit of poke, just need to trim my hilos so I can drop it a bit further at the front...
