I'm thinking about buying a classic Mini in the US. My favorite look is the Mark VII Cooper, but they are not available for import yet. I'm wondering what, cosmetically, the differences might be for earlier examples. Is it literally just the arches? I would just look at photos side-by-side, but it has proven difficult to find a pictures of a bone-stock examples that you can be sure are of a particular model year and trim...
 
What would it take to make a bog-standard Mark V or VI look like this:

I saw the arches directory thread...Looks like maybe they're just Sportspack aches, or...?

Mk3 onwards the Shell's are almost identical. The mk7 shell doesn't necessarily mean it is a sportspack either, That's the arches (cut outs and rack stops) and 13's.
