I have a 1992 Mini Mayfair and my indicators have just stopped working. The hazard warning lights work so it isn't the bulbs, fuses or flasher relay I don't think, it must be something to do with the indicator stalk? Has anyone got any ideas of what could be going wrong or what i could look for? Cheers

The flasher relay for the indicators is under the dash, behind the speed housing, also check for 4 inline fuses (for the headlights) while your there

The indicator lights themselves are working when I turn the hazard warning lights on so the fuse must be fine. Also I believe that that fuse works the interior light as well and that is still working fine too.

Its just when I move the indicator stalk nothing happens. However the beam dip and horn are still working on it

Have you changed the flasher unit?
If not try swapping the hazard flasher unit with the indicator one.

Cant do that because the Hazard flasher unit has 3 prongs and the indicator has 4

Mine both have 3 prongs hence the suggestion, although I have just looked on the minispares website and all there flasher units appear to be 3 pronged

Bridge terminals 30 and 87 to replicate a working relay - that's the "horizontal" one and the middle of the 3 "vertical" ones.
Odds on it's the stalk contacts.

I had the same problem a while ago. I checked the flasher units, I checked the fuses, I ended up rebuilding the stalks because as Ethel has said, the wire connected to the stalk contacts, and the contacts, had corroded.

Wiring and colours is in the FAQs Electrical section which will show the full circuit of the stalk, as there the same for the MK4 -on

Might be worth opering the hazard switch a few times. As it doesn't get used from one year to the next, the contacts will not be perfect. Indicator power still goes through this switch, when not in hazard mode. I had the same issue on an Allegro I was checking over pre MOT. Operated the hazard switch about half a dozen times and the indicators started wrking normally.

3 prongs indicates (sorry) that it's an electronic flasher. Unless it's a very early car with a green blinking stalk, but then you wouldn't have hazards.
