Hi all can you still get a wiring loom for the mini mpi, I’ve been told there’s 2 looms in it body harness and engine harness, I can’t see a way of separating them ? As I only want to replace the engine harness any advice appreciated

Hi, there are still the odd looms about. There’s a few on eBay at the minute.

There are a few extension extra bits on the loom, for example the airbag / seat belt stuff, rear boot, ECU wiring harness and sportpack stuff for the extra gauges and lights.

Think the part number for the main loom YMC127000

The engine loom is plugged into the main loom just behind the air filter on the bulkhead bracket I think?

You're right! I'm thinking of something else.

So if I unplug that 1 plug I should be able to remove just the engine loom with all the sensors etc attached is that right, I think maybe I’m over complicating it ha ha!! ??

As a start You need to remove all the plugs from the sensors, remove the engine bay fuse box, relay box and alternator cabling.

I reckon you are over thinking it. Start from the alternator area and work your way back bit by bit unplugging everything as you go.

Make notes of what colored connector goes to which sensor, and how the loom is routed and attached.

Starting from the joining connector isn't a logical place to start.
