Hi all,

Ive got an mpi mini that has been sat in my garage for a couple of years untouched due to work and house commitments. Ive started to do various bits on the mini, such as renewing the cooling system. Before i turn the key and get the car started is there anything i should do/look out for? Obviously dont want to damage the engine without checking something simple.

Cheers.

Oil change (preferably), fresh battery, fresh petrol. Remove coil pack and injector plugs. Spin engine over a good few times to lubricate. Make sure oil light has gone out.

Replace, and start.

The alternator may have siezed, so I would suggest loosning the fan belt and making sure it turns freely as well as the water pump

Replace brake hoses and brake fluid.

I'd also siphon all fuel out of your fuel tank. New filter, and then fresh petrol. Check fuel hoses for detioration.
