Can't see that you answered my question previously, was the clutch working prior to this fault or has it developed since carrying out engine or gearbox work?
..forgotten to replace the top hat before refitting the clutch cover ?

i was pressing the brake pedal......lol
no there was a blob of gasket sealant on the clutch plate

Blob of gasket sealer shouldn't have that effect. Is it now running correctly?
