Hi new member I’m after any hints and tips. starting a restoration project on a 1997 John Cooper mini1275 injection

order a new shell it be cheeper quicker lol , it will need lots of dosh and time no joke , pick one job at a time do it and stay with that job till it finished , if you strip it just end another unfished project and there's 1000's of them in sheds garages all over the UK, lost unloved , full resto cost ask steve220 look his thread up .he just done one bet it 2k to the misses and 10/15k real life and I bet he saved where he can??rear sub frame just cost me 1500 for my 2000mpi doing it myself , just parts... good luck and enjoy it

I think you need to consider the amount of space needed to keep all the parts, and make sure anything that's going to be used again is stored safely. Don't believe all the people who think a car can be restored on a budget of £1000, be realistic. As 'ukcooper' mentions, plenty of people end up selling projects.

Welcome to the forum! Buy lots of plastic storage boxes and take lots of photos, it'll help when you put it back together.

You can do it in a normal size garage, but its a ball ache. and none of the rest of the car is stored in mine! Most of the rest is in my loft

 

Amazing how much space a dismantled car takes up...
