Hi guys,
I have a 1998 MPI with an aftermarket exhaust (which it is escapes me) and was thinking about cat deleting it with the bolt in part you can buy for the sound and possible miniscule power increase. My question is will doing this mess up anything in not thinking of like any sensors etc?
Thanks!

Ahh ok, sensing not much point then, sounds like it just makes the noise more 'honda ricer'-esque, not nice!

You'll gain very little by removing it.

Removing it does let the exhaust sit higher

That is a little issue that I am having but my understanding is the replacement tube has the same flanges (assuming it's not just straight welded) which is what fowls?

You are correct that the decat pipes use the same flanges.

Some aftermarket or reproduction cats have the flange holes at a slightly different angle to what is needed, so the wide body of the cat scrapes.

Personally id fit a pre cat exhaust and if your tester says anything just say you bought the car with that system fitted.

Any pre MPI mini will pass without a cat.
