Hey there,

I went to see a car this weekend, but had my issues with it and offered the seller less than they wanted. We both decided to walk away, but he is trying to meet me in the middle.

Here is the original ad: https://www.subito.i...a-284058775.htm

I worry that it might be off someway, and it has some small issues that I can describe here:

  • The steering wheel is pointed to the right, and the car doesnt track straight. It pulls to the left (slightly).
  • Passenger door has rust at the bottom. I am guessing this extends to the inside of the door.
  • the hood needs to be replaced and color matched
  • there is some shoddy radio+speaker wiring that I would remove and put back in.
  • there is also some suspect wiring as part of the steering column.
  • the radiator is a rust machine. They have changed the hoses and replaced the water pump, but when I undid the cap there was just rusty water in there.
  • some more suspect wiring under the bonnet.
  • No oil pressure light

The car is nice though. It drives so great, very strong engine and pulls nicely. You can chirp the wheels in second. I have some more pics I will add to the thread shortly. No rust in places you really have to worry about and no oversills. They have replaced the engine steadies, and the shocks.

My question is, what is this worth?

Ideally, I want a Cooper with the updated interior and sports pack for under 4k. I know that is very difficult, so I am trying to find what are the things I can skimp on here and it not be a problem later down the road.

Should I pull the trigger on this one, or keep my search open and see what comes along. Do I go for a non-cooper as long as they tick the other boxes?

....Should I pull the trigger on this one, or keep my search open and see what comes along....?

Who knows????    --Photographs are all very well & good but you just can't beat someone who knows Minis inside & out seeing it in the flesh.... & how much they sell for in your area.

How's your Italian? Best bet is to join a local club & ask one of the very knowledgeable members to check it out with you.

Thanks for the feedback.

My italian isnt great, which has been a hindrance through this process. There are Mini's all over Italy, and the prices vary wildly.

I will join the group and see what people say. Maybe I can get a recommendation or even see one nearby.

Thank you
