I'm here under false pretences because I haven't owned a Mini for many years.

Way, way back, many centuries ago (about 1968), I owned a pale blue 1963 Austin Mini reg no. 7457 PJ. Great car which I drove flat out most of the time. I remember taking a roundabout on full lock because the understeer was so savage, or maybe the speed was a bit high :D . But I still got round quicker than a pal in a Mk 1 Cortina GT. Motoring was fun back then.

Then in 1974 I had a red Mini countryman with the wood on the sides. That car blew a hole in a piston on a trip to see my future in-laws. Not great.

Mike (now an old guy and a lot more sensible - not).

+1 although now living in WestYorkshire! from the same era owned a 1963 SuperDeLuxe the one in my

avatar  ;D then a 1275GT after a excursion into MK1 Escort Mexico ownership :nuke:

Then a break for 40years restored 3 in the last 4 years, still own a rare Clubman that can be found elsewhere

on here.

I can recommend getting back into Mini ownership still a lot of FUN!! to be had and friends to be made.
