A-Plus Crown Wheel And Pinion On Pre A-Plus?

The difference is the profile of the gear teeth. A+ crownwheel & pinions do fit pre A+ gearboxes, the only modification required is when you fit a 3.2 cwp or lower (number wise not ratio), the 3rd motion bearing retainer needs to be ground back to give extra clearance.

I see most crown wheel and pinion kits sold new are made for A-plus gear boxes, but I have a pre A-plus. What is the difference and can it be customized to fit?
