Afternoon ! I've been trying to fix my car from starting , I had a fray earth strap so replaced it with a spre cap type strap lead. Didn't make no difference, should it be a clamp type terminal or does it not matter ? I have a gut feeling it's coming from the battery . Replaced the live terminal too with a new one , previous one was cracked ..ta

makes no difference. but many people don't know is that the terminals are actually different sizes so make sure you use the correct one or it either will not fit without work or will not clamp correctly.

cap type terminals are really a taper fit, but I prefer clamps harder to strip screws and easier to unseize.

Caps are quicker to fit in the factory, but as Ethel says, clamps are preferable.
