Looking at your quote... you are saying it is just a plain Italian version of the British Racing Classic? Not the Classic 35 that someone else mentioned?

I wouldn't worry about the power figures, in good condition the lower output engine won't be a problem.

Thanks! I am in the middle of deciding between this and a 94 Cooper for around the same price. So that's why the power difference is coming up to me. The Cooper also has had some recent services and upgrades done, while this one has just been sitting for a year. 

 

If it is a Classic 35 for the Italian market, then it is a rare version and theoretically worth more than the plain cooper from 94. But if it is a regular british open, then I can make my money go further with the Cooper.

Personally I like the "Classic 35" with the Innocenti grill and dashboard but I do find my brothers 35 a little underpowered. But any engine can be tuned up.
