A couple of years ago I posted ' is this world record' as my Mrs 89 mini is still on it's original cills, well ladies and gentlemen I have just picked up my latest mini a 1967 mk1 and guess what, original cills, original floors, wings, front panels everything and no rust?

Yup all the way from sunny and mainly dry Portugal,I searched the net for a long time before buying, to say I was cacking myself was an understatement, I didn't go to see it just relied on the honesty of the guy selling it and I wasn't let down.

The storey
1 pay up mortgage early giving you extra folding green
2 decide a mk1 mini like I had back in the late 70's early 80's will be needed
3 start searching the UK
4 soon realise my idea of a good car and others differs greatly
5 start searching the net for over seas cars as I need one with minimal rot
6 find car on said net
7 contact guy selling
8 he still has it
9 soon find out his English is a lot better than my Portuguese
10 ask if the is any possibility he would drive the car best part of 500miles to the shipping company
11 can't believe it when he says yes he will
12 cut a deal on the money side of things
13 open front of pants and check on the condition of Steve and the boys, all seems in good condition

15 change under trolleys regularly as you have transferred money to a bank account thousands of miles away

17 come the day of delivery transport company phone up to say where is car
18 change under trolleys many times
19 smoking reaches 500 a day
20 email comes through from guy showing car at transport company
21 cancel ambulance
22 smoke many fags waiting for car to reach UK
23 car arrives
24 get car picked up by body work God
25 get txt saying f$$k this car is clean
26 finally get to see car
27 can't believe how clean and rot free it is
28 go to bed with stupid smile on my face
29 realise there are still good honest people in this world
30 buy lottery ticket my luck is obviously in

Portugal is warm all years round My friend lives and come from there he says there are many many minis there locked away even Ss
