The limited research that I did shows this distr to be used on '81> Australian Mokes.  Does anyone have any specs?  Type of advance curve?  Used on engine?  A+ I would guess.

Thanks

that is only part of the dizzy info. there is a whole pile of info before that number.  what dizzy is it and what make? that is only a serial number. and what year is your car and engine size and market originally?

It’s a NOS Lucas 59D4 that I’m considering buying. The data sheet that I found shows that 5 digit number, 41766, to be a model number of the basic line of 45D/59D4 distributors that use different baseplates, points, springs and weights depending on application. That same data sheet showed it used only on the Australian Moke. No engine size or advance figures. Curious.

got you. I had a similar thing with a dizzy I bought that was a 41851A 45DMA that I had modified to work on my engine.

I will have a look at the info I got back then and see if there is anything there as everything on net is as you say blank for yours.

but don't forget they are quite easy to modify to suit.

It's a 59D4 it wasn't fitted to the Aust Mokes !

The last distributor fitted to them for the 998 was a 41765 and for the 1275 was a 41858. These were both 54D4's.

I don't have my Lucas list to hand, but will look when I get a chance.
