Hello peeps.

Thought it sensible to join up on here for two reasons,

1. The obvious combined knowledge of the community.
2. Spotted ‘spraybeaters’ Mini 30 for sale and wanted to investigate. He seems respected and straight.

We are looking for something along the lines of that Mini 30, maybe more like 5k if possible. Our only concern is whether we should go for a variant with a larger engine? Obviously we don’t expect high performance from any standard Mini, we both had them in our younger days, but will we regret going for a 998cc version.

Thanks everyone.

As the Forum member you have mentioned in your post! if you are interested in the Mini 30 please contact me

via Personal Messenger.

The car is in exceptional condition! and the reasons for posting in the For Sale section are genuine

I ask this this to avoid Negative Comments posted by Keyboard jockeys, No offence intended or meant.

I am not a dealer or trader, just a Retired Mini nut whom has been working on Minis since the early 60s.

profesionlay in the Body Repair industry . and most other areas of the Motor Trade.

Best of luck with your Mini hunting.

Frank (Spraybeater) by the way my avatar picture is me and my first Mini in the Mid 60s.

Nothing wrong with the 998 (I have one), but it depends on the type of driving you're intending to do. Lots of dual carriageway/some m'way then you want the 1275, twisty b and c roads then the 998 will make you smile. If you go 998, when you have more ava cash in the future you can add some additional power with stage kits, or go even further and have the engine out for head and cam work to give you some extra horses.

if you're thinking of buying a mini it's worth bearing in mind that unless you're going to do it yourself, repairs to the bodywork (..corrosion, resprays etc) will be the most expensive part of maintaining the car.

if you haven't already, have a look at Franks Oyler Contessa rebuild project to get an idea of the standard of his work
