Hi, just bought a '91 Mayfair, and it needs outer sills replacing. There are tons of guides, but what I really want to know is do you need to refit the jacking point? I am not intending on ever using it, I will be using a bottle jack. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum!

My personal preference was to remove them.  Before my sills were welded on, the jacking hole was capped.  I only ever jack up on the subframes.

I would keep them but blank them off as they will add strength to the car.

They do tie in the crossmember to the inner sill and outer sill hence why they are used to jack a car.

If you don't intend to use it, fit and as mentioned cap it afterwards. Job done.

Thanks all. As I have got a new jack point, I may as well fit it then blank it off.
