Hello I'm 99.9% that I have a Metro engine fitted in my car, which started life as '77 998cc

 

The engine code is as follows - 12HE72103213

 

As far as I can make out the 12HE72 stands for 'Austin Metro with unleaded head' and the rest will be a unique code specific to the engine.

 

I was wondering if the 72 part of the code refers a specific model of Metro and/or year.

 

Any info much appreciated.
